LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is an international series of relays by Law Enforcement Officers to raise money for Special Olympics. They do this to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for children and adults with mental retardation. For 15 years the Special Olympics torch has been carried throughout New Jersey signifying the achievements and the personal courage of Special Olympics athletes. Law Enforcement fund-raising activities include not only the Torch Run, but other events such as a Polar Bear Plunge, Motorcycle Rally and Fun Runs.
